  My theme offers a setting so that posts are displayed as either a summary or the entire post. When I choose summary and save it, it doesn’t work. My homepage has the whole article displayed and it’s much to long.

  I see you are using Bueno. The full or summary setting under “For each article in a feed, show” at Settings > Reading in your dashboard is for your RSS feed, not for the posts page on the blog itself.

  You can however insert the read more tag into your posts when creating them, or by editing existing posts and adding it.
