My Theme pages show two identical Menus
-
In my new Blog the Theme shows 2 Menus, How do I remove one?
I read somewhere in the support or Learn WordPressthat this happens when copying and pasting word text into wordpress.I did read somewhere about the solution being deleting certain HTML Code (<div>) but can’t find that instruction again and looking at the HTML source etc of the document, there are many similar codes (i.e. <div>) used. Which to remove is the question.
I also read somewhere that one could ask at wordpress and they would sort out similar formatting problems for you. I can’t find this contact info again either.
Can someone please help me?
Thanks

What you read is irrelevant. The first set of tabs in your sidebar is the top menu of the theme, the last one is a Custom Menu widget you added yourself. Just go to Appearance > Widgets, open that widget and click Delete.

Thanks Justpi it worked perfectly, just as you described.
Can you now possibly help with the following:
My Blog comprises a static front page with additional pages, where each page is a topic. What I now would like to know is how do I add my additional posts onto the specific topic pages?
I have looked at hierachi/parent-child etc but can’t seem to work it out.If one looks at my blog patmccabekzn2.wordpress.com you will notice I have one additional post and it appears under RECENT POSTS in side Menu. Having the Recent Posts is Ok, but I do want “that” post on the Laughter is the Best Medicine Page, and hopefully below the text already on that page.
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks

You’re welcome.
You don’t do it using pages, you do it using post categories (and a custom top menu). See here:

http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/“hopefully below the text already on that page”
As you’ll realize after reading the above posts, “that page” will be discarded. To display the text above the posts that will show up on a category page, you’ll need to edit the category in Posts > Categories and add the text in the Description field. -
Hi Justpi
Thanks for the latest, after reading through the links you advised on I realized I could link posts/post pages to the topic pages. I think it works out OK. I was also afraid of deleting my existing pages to create categories, did not want all broken links on the internet (that was also in your write up).
What do you think, have you any other suggestions as an experienced blogger? See my blog patmccabekzn2.wordpress.com (Real Estate Real Experiences)
