My Thread Keeps Getting Closed Here?

    I’m on a Mac, but I do have a dual-boot of Mac OS and Windows 7 set up. I’m still a little confused. I think I’m gonna need somebody to tell me what to remove from the original code so I fully understand what the only things that are supposed to be there are.

    Just give up on what you’re using.

    If you want to generate content for a text widget, just write it up as a draft Post. You can use the centering icons, add pictures, whatever you like. Keep in mind it’s going to be narrower. Once it looks more or less the way you want, click to the HTML tab, copy all the code, and put that in a text widget. You can save the draft post for future edits if you want or delete it.

    What you’re doing now doesn’t work; in the very most profound sense it is broken. Stop using it and never use it again.

    Okay, I’m short on time, so I just put the text as part of an image, so I only have four slices I had to put together. I’d really like to remove the black border around the shape (and keep the table bgcolor). Could somebody check my HTML for me and tell me how to keep the black table bgcolor but not have it extend outside of the shape? THis HTML is a lot shorter:

    <table bgcolor="#000000">
    <tbody></tbody>
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td colspan="2"><img src="http://dextercorner.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DexterCornerFollowFull2_01.gif" alt="" width="263" height="34" /></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td><img src="http://dextercorner.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DexterCornerFollowFull2_02.gif" alt="" width="128" height="42" /></td>
    <td rowspan="2"><img src="http://dextercorner.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DexterCornerFollowFull2_03.gif" alt="" width="135" height="97" /></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td><img src="http://dextercorner.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DexterCornerFollowFull2_04.gif" alt="" width="128" height="55" /></td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>

    By the way, this forum is much more responsive than WordPress.org, where I’ve gotten 0 replies.

    I had at one point thought about moving over to the .ORG forums and answering the simple to moderate questions that seem to be “beneath” the volunteers and moderators over there, but thankfully I recovered before I did.

    The code is almost there. There’s just a small black border at the bottom that shouldn’t be there on my WordPress site. I’d really appreciate any help because I’ve spent a lot of time trying to get this done and I have to have my site up in a week.

    I just popped your code into a test post, and I see no black border on the bottom. I mess with tables so seldom that quite truthfully I’m not the best one to help, Panos is. That said, give this code a try.

    <table style="background-color:#000000;border:none;" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="263px">
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td style="border:none;" colspan="2"><img src="http://dextercorner.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DexterCornerFollowFull2_01.gif" alt="" width="263" height="34" /></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td style="border:none;"><img src="http://dextercorner.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DexterCornerFollowFull2_02.gif" alt="" width="128" height="42" /></td>
    <td style="border:none;" rowspan="2"><img src="http://dextercorner.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DexterCornerFollowFull2_03.gif" alt="" width="135" height="97" /></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td style="border:none;"><img src="http://dextercorner.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DexterCornerFollowFull2_04.gif" alt="" width="128" height="55" /></td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>
