My URL images disappear after few days!
-
Hi everyone!
Firts of all, sorry for my English!
I embed (insert) the images on my blog via URL. The links are from twitpic. After a few days the images disappear and some photos are not shown. It’s very disapointing. I have no idea why it happens!
I’ve read a post here about it but it’s closed without solution (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/link-from-image-to-external-url?replies=4) and I’ve just alredy fixed the damaged links today. So please, if someone has the same problem and can link the post with the fallen links so some volunteer can figure out what happens I would be very thankful. I would keep cheking this post and I’ll link my own blog the next time it happens.
Thank you!

I had the same problem (1 week ago)… stop changing themes & slidebars solved the problem.
Good luck! -
Hi again!
Thanks for your quick answer debjitmukherjee! But it seems not to be my problem. I haven’t change anything till I wrote my post asking for help and the pictures I fixed have disappeared again!
This is the links to the posts with the issue:
The images are almost the same that I fixed this morning. I don’t understand why if embed all the photos the same way, some of them dissapear and other ones stay.

In all cases, the source URL for the images you have embedded are returning “AccessDenied”
You’ll need to contact wherever you got the images from for help with this.

So it is a problem at twitpic!
Ok! Thanks so much!
I’ve decided to post my images trought photobucket. I hope that solve the problem.

Why not upload them to your blog? Your pages will load faster, and you won’t ever have problems if the other site is down or if the images get relocated or removed.
-
Isn’t any problems with space of uploading or so, justpi? I only upload the post title photo, because it’s the only way fot it to appear at the headline. But actually I asumed that, like in other services, the space is limited, so I’m used to link my photos.
Anyway, the issue seems to be solve using photobucket instead of twitpic.
Thank you all for your help and suggestions!

You have 3 GB of free storage space. With properly sized and optimized images you will be able to have many thousands of pictures!
I have over 4,000 images and still 90% of my free storage space available.

Thanks a lot for the information 1tess! Then I’ll think better about hosting my photos on an external service if it’s quicker to upload them directly to the wordpress blog.
Thanks!

Twitpic was never meant to be a permanent image host. They do this deliberately. Your best bet is to copy the images and upload them to your own blog. Link to the source, of course, unless they’re your own images.

Ok, raincoaster! I’ll do it! Most of the images are mine so I do it like you have told me!
Thanks!
