My username changed.

My username changed and I pay for a vanity domain, so I’m not sure I want to renew unless someone can fix this.
The last time I did a search, I’m sure I read that it was not possible to change owner user names.I set up a couple of blogs for non-profit groups, but they were not used — they must have been deleted because I can’t find them anymore.
Someone must have make a delete error and reassigned one of those usernames to my blog. Irritating. Can someone tell me what to do about this? And what is the policy on infrequently used blogs? How long before the are killed?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. If you go to your global dashboard, do you see your blogs?
http://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogsFor your information, WordPress.COM does not recycle blog names and assign them to other people, nor do they delete usernames.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/To my knowledge, the only reason they would delete a blog would be for a violation of terms of serivce:
http://en.wordpress.com/tos/ -
When I look at My Blogs, all I see is this list:
Dashboard, New Post, Site Stats, Manage Comments, Read Blog, Register…No list of Blogs. Not one. Not even the one org site I’ve been able to find by searching.
I doubt I violated TOS (especially on the org sites), but I’ll check. The people who I allowed Admin priveleges on those other sites are “responsible adults”, if not as cautious about passwords as I try to be. I suppose there could be some malicious abuse by “hack” one of the other sites — how can I check that?
I changed themes on my personal blog (I think the old one was discontinued after an upgrade). I selected “Sadish.” I don’t know if that broke anything.
I can’t use my original username for my personal blog. It only allows a username for a nonprofit.
How can I get this fixed?

Provided your blogs are (or were) indeed hosted by WordPress.COM (regardless of domain name), it’s time for you to contact staff directly:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/P.S. You probably mean “MistyLook by Sadish” but I doubt changing themes had any impact on the existence of your blog.

Just to be on the safe side, you might want to read this article, in case your blogs are self-hosted and you’re on the wrong forum:

“responsible adults”, Famous last words
You should give as much info to Staff as possible – blog names, user name(s) and especially all email address used as WordPress.COM uses email addresses to keep track of the accounts (many people get in trouble when they throw an email address away and then want to make changes on their blogs and WordPress.COM sends the confirmation email to a dead address)

I haven’t heard from a staffer at one nonprofit for a few months. I knew she’d be away for a sabatical. Wonder if others at her org discovered the blog and complained about the logo. The new director might not know what marketing had approved earlier.
Something else I can check — but why would that mess up everything else, including my personal blog?

Hello Airodyssey & auxclass,
I do know the difference between WP org and com. I update sites using both .com and the self-hosted blog downloaded from .org.
The username for my personal blog at WordPress.com HAS changed.
I’ve always used my gmail account, so any changes at pop accounts wouldn’t break my blog ownership. I was able to type that address into the lost-password form. It was through that reset message to my gmail address that I discovered my login name, rather than the password, had been changed. -
My dashboard doesn’t have a menu option like “users.” There is no way to add contributors. Is that something new? I thought I could check, or add more email address to the account in the past.
-
That sounds like you have been downgraded from Admin. I can’t remember if Editor can add users or not.
-
I’m not trying to withhold pertinent information, but i feel kind of uncomfortable sharing too much account information on a public forum.

I don’t want to see any sensitive info – don’t care and does not matter – I was just observing that if you were Admin then you should see the Users section – if you have been downgraded by someone else you would no longer have Admin Privileges – did you have a second user name that you used for some reason? Would one of the other “responsible adults” moved you down or maybe someone ask them to rework privileges?
On one of my blogs I have two different user names – one is Admin and the second is Editor (confusing story) and there are subtle differences –
Your best bet is to work with the Staff and you are not the first person with they type of problem.

Your username is the one that you signed up with for your very first blog on WordPress.com and it is the one that appears in these forums. If this has somehow actually changed (as opposed to accidentally not signing in with the right account), you should contact Support directly because there’s really nothing we forum volunteers can do to change this. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
Other tidbits:
FYI only an Admin can upgrade or downgrade users, as well as delete a blog, which is why it is recommended to have only one Admin per blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/The only blogs that will show up in https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs are blogs hosted on WordPress.com, vanity URL or no. Self-hosted WP.org installs do not show up there.
By the way, all that sensitive information is already out there.
