My view count dropped

  Hi,

  I don’t know if it’s just me that has this problem, but as i was reviewing my view count for the day I refreshed my page and the number of recorded views dropped dramatically.

  Also, the other contributor of the blog was logged on at the same time and she was seeing very different statistics than I was.

  Hi there!

  Do you have any screenshots of the discrepancy between you and the contributor user? Different users shouldn’t be seeing different results (assuming the graph is being setup with the same parameters, of course) unless the traffic load at the time of check the stats was changing.

  Regarding the views, it’s worth noting that the statistics are not real-time. Not only does Stats need to count every click/page view/visitor, but it also needs to filter out spam, Googlebots and the like. Especially when you get a large uptick in traffic as your blog did yesterday, the stats will fluctuate (both up and down) a lot as the data gets compiled and filtered. It’s normally 24 hours later that you can trust the final number for a given day.
