My views have suddenly dropped to zero

    I published a new post on june 24th. My views were 24 on that day and on the following days, 15, then 20. My views have not dropped to zero on any day in about a year. I make sure of that, by regularly commenting and liking other posts. I have 203 followers on wordpress. My views normally drop to about five views between posts (I post on average every week), but from the 27th june I have zero views. This doesn’t make sense, especially as I deliberately commented and liked other blogs as I saw no views had appeared on my stats on friday night. Has anyone else had an experience like this? And why can I not ask wordpress to look into it because it must be a fault with the site!

    Commenting and liking is no guarantee that other people will visit your blog, and it’s normal to have a drop in stats if you haven’t posted in a few days. Add to that the fact that it’s weekend and that it’s summer holidays in the US and Europe where the vast majority of blog readers live, and there’s nothing strange about this.

    it looks very strange on my stats page I can tell you, like a row of skyscrapers and then two have been demolished – lol! but since you have looked at it I have a like today, so hopefully that means nothing’s broken :)

    20 page views is still classed as light traffic – and my experience is that the less the traffic is the more likely there is to have days of one or two page views – I have more traffic than you but still see drops of 30% from time to time after a nice few days of solid traffic –

    As with all blogs and web sites – not every Post will appeal to everyone – I wrote a nice Post two weeks ago on changes to Aids to Navigation on the water – and messed up the lead SENTENCE and the traffic was horrid for what I thought was a great article – so something as simple as the lead sentence being wrong can kill traffic
