My website after a year at the 4€/month option if I do not pay again?

    Hi,
    I plan to create a website with the 4€/month subscription (url without “wordpress” and no advertising). The payment is made at one time for the all year.

    I would like to know:
    – what will happen to my website after a year if I don’t pay again? Is it still available, but back to the free option with advertising and a .wordpress.com url?
    – is the payment automatic at the end of the year to start a new year at the same conditions?
    – can someone else pay for the next years? (other bank account)

    That’s correct. The custom domain will expire if it isn’t renewed and your site will revert back to its free WordPress.com address (example.wordpress.com). From there, you can continue using the Free plan.

    Purchases are set to auto renew by default (we can disable this if you wish). We charge your card 30 days before the expiry date, which gives us plenty of time to handle any renewal problems:

    We will contact you by email before charging your card so you can decide whether to renew or not.

    can someone else pay for the next years? (other bank account)

    If you would like someone else to take ownership of the plan and renewal payments after the first year, the plan and domain can be transferred to their account. I can send more information about this process if you need it.

    We would need to transfer ownership of the plan for you as it’s not something that can be done through your account. But you can contact us at any time for help with that.

    The domain itself could be transferred to another account using these steps:

    The other account could continue the renewal payments from then on.
