My website archives

Hi–I had 10 years or more of WordPress posts and a few years ago a designer rebuilt my site bec it had been invaded, and she left out all the archives. Is there a way I can get my WordPress site archives back on my site so my web presence is restored?

Hi there, I don’t see any WordPress.com sites associated with your username. Can you give us a link to your site?

Sure, it was illuminara.com now elaineclayton.com

I managed to enable the widget but the months and years of posts were not there, only like 1 post a month going back to 2011. But I posted several times a day sometimes so tons of content didn’t show up even with the widget turned on.

  • Hi there,

We’re not able to help with this, as your site is not hosted on our servers and we’ve never had access to any of the data for your site.

Both your old domain and the new one are hosted with Bluehost, which means your site’s files are, and the missing content most likely were, on their servers, and the only way to get it back is if Bluehost still has a backup of that data on their servers.

To clarify, your site is using WordPress, but it’s the open source WordPress software that anyone can download from the WordPress.org software and install on their own server or at a hosting provider of their choice.

WordPress.com is a managed hosting provider for that software, and we only control the data for sites that are hosted with us, not WordPress sites hosted with other providers.
