And, if your entire network can’t “see” the changes, contact your network admin (or your internet provider) and tell them. They will likely clear the cache on their end.
But go ahead and fix your A records first.
Again, make two A records pointing whitneyassocs.co.uk to each of those addresses I sent. Use a cname for www and point it to whitneyassocs.co.uk .

Hi Velda.
Ive done all that thanks.
Unfortunately its still not working. Have spoken to network admin and it would appear that the problem is that on my server my internal system has a split DNS with my fully qualified internal domain being whitneyassocs.co.uk and that is the same as the external domain name whitneyassocs.co.uk.
therefore an ip loop is being created so what we have done does not fix the internal problem.can you suggest anything I can do to resolve the internal domain name issue please ?
-
I can see you still don’t have two A records for whitneyassocs.co.uk
If your internal network has its own DNS, have them add the A records there as well.
-
… or, honestly whoever is running the network there should know how to fix it. But do give them the IP addresses I gave you.
And do update your own DNS with that other IP as well, please :)

Hi Velda
thanks. I will pass that on and let you know if that works for me.I did add the second IP address exactly as you advised and it shows on my own dns settings, so I am confused as to why you cant see it.?
I have both your ip addresses pointing whitneyassocs.co.uk and a CName record for www. -
Hi velda
Don’t forget that changes to the 2nd A record I put on last night can take up to 24 hours to be effective so, that may not be showing publicly as yet.? maybe that’s why you cant see it?
Please can you check again to see if its now visible.I am informed that the IP addresses in my internal DNS,has already been done and is not working on my internal network as has been proved – we have a problem of the IP loop.
Network admin also comment ” Am not sure she has taken on board properly the internal split DNS aspect on the server as I promise you if I put those 2 IP addresses at the root of your internal DNS, you’re machines won’t be able to see each other on the internal network”
Please can you confirm whether you can give me a replacement A record (IP address) which will work in my WWW dns entry on my internal DNS server?
Thanks.

Hi @jwassocs, I was querying the nameserver directly. I do see the two IPs and the correct CNAME now, though.
As far as your intranet goes, your network admins know more about their setup than I do. Let’s leave it to them to fix it. Just let them know the domain’s A records and CNAME have been updated everywhere else, and you’ll need to be able to access the site from within the network there. Good luck!

thankyou. I realise that you have done as much as you can do to help now, so I will see if I can get the internal DNS situation sorted.
However ,I Will leave this thread as unresolved for the time being to give me a day or so to finalise at my end, in case I need to return to you for more info. Thanks

HELP PLEASE STILL NOT RESOLVED
Hi Velda
despite all sorts of work arounds my internal DNS is still not compatible to the changes you have made on the domain mapping, which whilst work externally do not work for my internal DNS due to the split dns set up as previously explained.
Therefore I HAVE NO OPTION, but to request that you urgently undo the domain mapping changes you made on 17th January, so that you return blog.whitneyassocs.co.uk as the primary domain and mapped to jwassocs.wordpress.com.Please can you confirm once you have undone the changes s I can test please.
This has dragged on long enough now so your urgent attention would be appreciated
Thanks.
Janette
