My website disappeared!

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,
Our website fasaconcordia.com literally disappeared and I don’t know what to do. When I log in, it says that ‘I don’t have a website yet’. And when I try to log in on WordPress.org (because in a previous message you told me I didn’t have a website on WordPress.com, obviously, that’s why I’m trying to reach you), they tell me my password or email is wrong. What are my options? There were a lot of content on that website and it’s also important to get it back really soon.
    Send help, please.

    Hi there,

Our website fasaconcordia.com literally disappeared and I don’t know what to do.

As you also know your website, fasaconcordia.com, is not a WordPress.com site. So, this is not the right forum for posting this query. You can consider looking for the answer related to a self-hosted WordPress site on WordPress.org support page. You can find it here: https://wordpress.org/support. Moreover, when I open your site I see the below message.

Coming soon: Another fine website hosted by WebFaction.
    Site not configured

If you are the owner of this website and weren’t expecting to see this message, here are some potential causes and solutions:

You recently created a new website record, but opened the URL before your changes were activated in the web server and DNS configuration. Wait a moment and refresh.
You created a new website record without the current subdomain (for example, www). Return to the control panel to add the current subdomain to the website record and refresh.
You added a new domain in the control panel but didn’t create a site record to link it with an application. Create a website record with the control panel and refresh.
Your website record is set for HTTPS, but you visited a HTTP URL (or vice-versa). Open the URL with the other protocol.
You tried to access your website by IP address. Access the website by domain name instead.
There is a problem with your account. Check the control panel for unresolved support tickets and check your email for recent messages from (email visible only to moderators and staff).

For more details, please see Error: Site not configured.

Hence, it seems like the problem lies with the hosting. I think you need to contact your hosting provider and try solving the above issues, if exists.

Please understand that WordPress is different from WordPress.com (See the difference here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/) WordPress.org is a platform from where you can download an open-source software WordPress and use it for building your website. The WordPress.org logins are not the logins of your website. So, using those logins for signing-in your website is not something you are looking for.

I think you should reach out to your hosting provider first and make the corrections, as suggested above.

Remember, I’m not the best solution provider for such issues as I can help you with WordPress.com and not self-hosted WordPress sites. I recommend you to look for the solutions of self-hosted WordPress sites on WordPress.org support page.

    Hope this helps! :)

That’s the thing, I can’t have support from WordPress.org if I can’t log in, and I can’t. But thank you for trying.

    Hi fasaoutreach,

The error message I am seeing on fasaconcordia.com suggests a problem with your hosting so I recommend contacting WebFaction — they should be able to give you more information about why the site is no longer loading. The WordPress.org support forums are a great resource for self hosted sites but in this case, I would contact your host first because this appears to be a hosting issue.

Best of luck getting this resolved.

When I log in, it says that ‘I don’t have a website yet’.

I just wanted to add that fasaconcordia.com isn’t connected to WordPress.com in any way, which is why it isn’t listed in your account here. You should be able to login at http://fasaconcordia.com/wp-admin if WebFaction are able to help get the site back up and running :)
