My website disappeared!
-
I created my entire website. Then I went on vacation for a month. I planned on purchasing a plan when I got back, since I would not need my website to be up and running until I got back. To my horror, my entire website appears to have been erased completely! When I log in, it looks like I need to start from scratch.
Is there any way my website that I created in June be found?Thank you,
Rachel Satoh

Hi,
What is the URL of the site you are trying to access? Was it thelifedripcom.wordpress.com as listed above? Or was it something else?
We’ll be happy to take a look and see if we can help.

Hi!
Yes, that was my site. Lifedrip.com is my domain and I think WordPress tacked WordPress.com onto the end of it. Thank you so much for doing whatever you can to help me get my site back! 🙏

Hi there,
I checked and Lifedrip.com is an unregistered custom domain that appears to have been registered with Go Daddy at one point.

Did you have the domain and site registered with Go Daddy at any point? Unfortunately, it looks like it expired, domain squatters then purchased the domain, and will probably charge a ridiculous amount for you to get it back from them (looks like they are asking for $7500 for it).
The biggest hope now is that they will drop the domain next year.
I would suggest purchasing a different domain assuming you’re not willing to pay the squatting price.
The domain has never been connected to the site http://thelifedripcom.wordpress.com/ which is hosted with us at WordPress.com. You created that site along with your WordPress.com account two months ago. If you are missing your site content, you must be referred to the site that I expect was hosted with Go Daddy at some point. If that is the case, I would reach out to them and see if you can at least export your site content.

If you were planning on hosting the site with us, I would then migrate the content over to WordPress.com, purchase the plan like you were planning to, and then purchase a new domain for the site.
Hope this all helps and you can get things sorted. Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi, I misspoke! My domain has always been theLifedrip.com.
I have never had “Lifedrip.com”.Thus, my WordPress website that I made was associated with THELIFEDRIP.com.
I made a full website, 6 weeks ago. How can I get that website content back? I would like to do so as soon as possible and then pay for a monthly subscription.
Thank you!

Hi Rachel,
You need to contact GoDaddy as both the domain and the site are hosted by them.
Here at WordPress.com, we can only provide support for sites hosted on our platform.
