My website doesn't work properly

Hi, ‘thesilicontropic.com’ works, but ‘www.thesilicontropic.com’ doesn’t work. I’m having trouble fixing it. Does anyone know what I should do?

All www URLs on mapped domains like http://www.thesilicontropic.com redirect seamlessly to the same content under the URL without the redundant “www”. The software will continue to strip out the redunant and unnecessary www.

Be aware that www is an old protocol from way back when the web was new and everything was under separate server hardware. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.

These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.

  • Hi @fflow85, it looks like you’d added a DNS record for www which was overriding our settings. I’ve adjusted that for you. It might take your computer a little time to forget the wrong settings and update to the new ones, but I’ve confirmed it works now.
