  hi. how do I know if I am suppose to transfer my domain that I already bought or do mapping? what are costs involved? I am new to designing websites. Thank you!

  Hi there,

  If you’re building a new site on WordPress.com, you can either transfer your domain or map it.

  The benefit of transferring your domain is that you get to manage your website and domain in one place. Your domain will be renewed automatically for another year upon transfer. The cost of the transfer is equal to the renewal cost for the domain.

  If you map it, your domain will stay with its current registrar (where you purchased it), and you’ll have to renew it with them every year. You should use this option if your domain is less than 60 days old.
