My website has a ‘500 internal server error’ and my accounts disappeared

  • Unknown's avatar

My website went down recently with a ‘500 internal server error’, and along with that, my host account and admin account associated with it are completely gone seemingly. Whenever I try to log in either account to manage the site, It says their is no account associated with the emails, despite having received emails from WordPress on both accounts about plugins updating on the website showing that the accounts exist. I don’t know how to get my accounts and website back, no matter what resources I try using to recover my account it just tells me I don’t have an account. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

  • Hi there,

What is the URL of the site? Is it hosted with us here at WordPress.com? Based on the error, it sounds like this may be a self-hosted dotorg site.

Here is information on addressing the HTTP 500 error you are receiving:

These forums are for WordPress.com-hosted sites only. Since we do not have access to self-hosted WordPress.org sites, we are unable to provide any direct assistance to your issue. I would reach out to your site host for help. However, please provide the site URL and we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.

    Thanks!
