My website has a ‘not secure’ message
-
Hi! Previously my satinandsand.wordpress.com site was forwarded to my satinandsand.com site with no problem. Now there seems to be some connecting with a mask (vs. forwarding as before). My .com site has a ‘not secure’ message now. Can you help? I contacted GoDaddy and was told it was your end to correct. Thanks so much! Joan

We cannot guarantee that forwarded or masked domains will work properly on WordPress.com.
We have two ways to properly use a domain you already own with a site here at WordPress.com:
Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

Hi,
This forum is for sites hosted with
WordPress.comUsing GoDaddy means that your site is using self-hosting with
WordPress.orgthe self-hosted version, whose software is available for free at WordPress.org. This requires purchasing hosting with another provider, such as Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc. and installing WordPress software on it.
