My website has disappeared
-
Hello, my whole website has gone while the second site I made is still available. Whenever I look for my disappeared site the following message comes up: “The connection has timed out”. I have tried various laptops and locations and the internet connection is not the problem.
Please can anyone advice me to what has happened?
Many thanks in advance

Exactly which site is “gone” please? What is the exact URL starting with http://?

Hi Timethief, This is the website I spend hours making. I started it as a free blog/website from a wordpress template.
In the past typing in derwentherbalists.co.uk got up my site. Is it possible someone has redirected/stolen it? Does something like that exist?

There is no domain mapping upgrade for derwentherbalists.co.uk here at wordpress.COM and we do not support domain forwarding if that was what you were doing.
I do not know how to help you so I typed modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Thank you timethief for doing and and trying to help.
I have just checked and I do hold the domain registration, and paid for mapping. I think my problem is well outside my webpage knowledge area so I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Hi there,
There is nothing wrong with the domain mapping upgrade here. I see you recently renewed it, and it will expire in January 2017.
However, it looks like the domain itself expired on 1 December 2015:
http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=derwentherbalists.co.ukDomain expiration is a process that can take as long as 80 days, so you still have a chance to get that domain back, but you will need to contact the registrar where you bought the domain to help you with that. According to the WhoIs data your registrar for that domain is http://www.123-reg.co.uk, so you will need to contact them.
If you are unable to recover that domain, let me know and I’ll be happy to refund the $13 you paid to renew your mapping upgrade.
Meanwhile I have also set your site’s primary domain back to the free address, http://derwentherbalistsblog.wordpress.com/, so you and your followers can still view your site there.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Hi kokkieh, Thank you for your reply. I can’t believe I didn’t spot that myself.
Would it be possible to return the domain mapping upgrade? I was planning on stopping the domain renewal, the business has now folded, however somehow didn’t think it was going to expire until some time in January. I was just horrified that it had all disappeared due to all the work I had put into it and it then going without my ‘permission’. Also, I know know how to access it as a wordpress blog.
Many thanks,

I have cancelled and refunded your domain mapping renewal. The refund should appear in your account in a few days.
Let me know if I can help with anything else.
