My website has disappeared

  Hey,

  I would appreciate any help I could get. My website stopped loading on any device, and it also doesn’t appear on my WP dashboard. My renewal fees were paid, and it was always working fine I never had an issue. Any suggestions?

  Hi there!

  It appears you recently changed your domain’s nameservers and pointed it to WordPress.com. However, you don’t have a site with us (you do, but it’s empty). I checked the history and found that you had these nameservers before:

  ns8315.hostgator.com
  ns8316.hostgator.com

  You may want to add these nameservers to your domain and wait up to 72 hours for the changes to take effect. If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to contact your host (which may be Hostgator) for the nameservers.

  Just to clarify, your site uses WordPress.org, which is different from the WordPress.com sites we host. If you aren’t sure about the difference, please check the following page that explains it: WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org.

  Because your domain is registered with us, we can help with the domain only, but the actual site is hosted elsewhere, so you need your hosting service provider’s help in getting the correct nameservers if the ones I shared above are incorrect.

  Hey

  Thanks for the reply. I’ve gone ahead and made that change and will wait 72 hours to see if it worked.

  It’s odd though because in my hostgator account says the domain isn’t there. It’s also not showing up that I have any purchase history. Whereas before I remember seeing it on there.

  Circling back to this, I see that the domain now has Hostgator’s nameservers, and I see your external site when I visit the domain. Should you need further help with your Hostgator dashboard, please contact Hostgator support team.
