My website is disconnected from my account
-
I have tried reaching out to contact support about this and they have been very unhelpful. I have a domain that has been paid for through another service. They said I had to use WordPress, so I did, even though I had already made another site on SquareSpace. I decided I didn’t like the site I was making on WordPress and wanted to go back to Squarespace. I started the connection of my domain to Squarespace but now cannot find, access, or edit the site that is live on the internet on WordPress. I need to access it and be able to edit it or take it down but my account has become completely disconnected from the domain. When I talked to the chat bot they had me log out and log back in, go to different sites trying to reconnect it, and tried to make me pay to talk to a person. I would really appreciate any help with being able to access my domain again. Thank you

Hello @livinlivybeauty,
We’ve sent you an email to the address associated with your WordPress.com forum profile so we can look into this further.
At the moment, we’re not seeing any domain names linked to your current account, and we also don’t see any previous support history related to this concern. To properly assist you, we’ll need to confirm the exact domain name you’re referring to. It’s possible that the domain may be connected to a WordPress site hosted elsewhere rather than on WordPress.com.
Please check your inbox and reply to our email with the domain name, and we’ll continue from there.

Hi, this usually happens when the site connection with your WordPress account expires or the login session breaks.
You can try a few quick steps:
- Log out of your WordPress account and sign back in, then reconnect your site from the dashboard.
- Check if the site is still listed under “My Sites.” If not, try adding it again.
- Clear your browser cache or open WordPress in a different browser and try connecting once more.
- If you are using Jetpack or any connection plugin, disconnect it and connect it again from the plugin settings.
- Confirm that you are signing in with the same WordPress.com account that was used when the site was first connected.
If none of this works, share a bit more detail like whether the site is self hosted or WordPress.com and any error message you see. That will make it easier to point you in the right direction.
