My website is down! Help!
-
I redirected my site http://www.fountainfamilyblog.com to drop the .wordpress portion of the address. That change seems to be working. However, the site is down. I followed the steps provided by your site and changed my nameservers on go daddy to NS1Wordpress.com, NS2Wordpress.com, and NS3wordpress.com. Ever since then the site has been down. Please Help! :-)

Howdy,
You had originally purchased the Site Redirect upgrade – that upgrade is for users that want to redirect their .wordpress.com address to a site hosted elsewhere.
Could you please use the domain mapping upgrade instead? This upgrade is for users that want to map a domain to their WordPress.com blog.
http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/I’ve added $12 in credits to your account.

Thanks for the credit and the additional information. I’ve tried my best to follow the instructions about mapping existing domains and I keep getting blocked by an error message tell me that someone has already registered the name. I can’t get past this page in order to purchase the upgrade through wordpress. Also, it’s asking for a CNAME and go daddy doesn’t provide CNAMES. I type in subdomain.fountainfamilyblog.com. Am I doing something wrong?
The only other option that has been presented to me is to go back into go daddy and change the nameservers, which I’ve already done and began this whole issue in the first place.
Thanks for your help!

Hi there,
According to WHOIS, your domain (fountainfamilyblog.com) is still pointing to the following name servers:
NS55.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS56.DOMAINCONTROL.COMYour name servers will need to be set to these ones instead:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.comIf this change isn’t taking effect, please contact GoDaddy’s support team, and let them know you want to change your name servers to the ones above.
Then, when you go to Store -> Domains in your WordPress.com blog’s dashboard, please enter:
fountainfamilyblog.com
And then proceed with the prompts.
I hope this helps — Feel free to drop us a line if we can be of any further assistance. :-)
