  my website is gone because I changed the URL from http to https in the settings>general

  Hi there,

  The site where you made that change is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another host – the setting you refer to doesn’t exist on WordPress.com sites.

  Changing the domain on a stand-alone WordPress site like yours has to follow a specific process. You can find the documentation for that process here, though many hosting providers have their own process for this via their hosting control panel.
