  My website is hosted for free at wordpress.com. Someone left a comment on a post. I approved it- but it does not appear on webpage. And I am being charged $6 a month now. Are comments free- or does a comment trigger a subscription. If so, how do I get rid of the subscription?

  Please provide a link or tell where you saw the $6 charge. What page did you see the charge?

  Thanks for responding. URL is smhs1963.wordpress.com.

  It is a $4 charge, not $6- sorry. In any event I have the free hosting- Page shows purchase is in my cart- and the Comment, even though APPROVED, doe not post.

  Hi there, thanks for sharing those screenshots.

  Comments do not appear on the Homepage or Posts page where you see a list of all your blog posts. They appear on the individual blog post like at https://smhs1963.wordpress.com/2020/09/11/news-from-sally-phillips-crawford/

  As far as Payment goes, you do not need to upgrade your site to have comments appear on your site.

  You can remove the upgrade by clicking on the cart and then the trash can that appears next to the upgrade. You might need to hover your mouse over the upgrade to see it.

  Thanks for your reply, JustJennifer. I successfully removed the upgrade from my Cart. I suspect that this was created by a human error (mine!). I must have clicked on UPGRADE by accident!
