  When you go to it says ‘critical error’. I received an email saying my site is experiencing technical issues but the recovery key has since expired

  Please share more details about your site like the URL, and what action actually triggers this particular error.

  Since you mentioned an ‘error’ there is a good possibility the site you missed mentioning is not hosted here and is hence isn’t on WordPress.com servers. IN that case, you may try posting on a different forum specifically for WordPress.org (self-hosted WordPress sites) here:
  https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  WordPress.com and WordPress.org are quite different and may have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names. Hence, have different support documentation and separate support forums. You may read the differences here for further reference:
