  It seems that your site (http://www.anneritchie.com/) is not hosted on WordPress.COM. Your site is hosted on GoDaddy.com with a software install of WordPress.ORG which means that it is not applicable to this forum.

  It would be better suited for you to ask this question at https://WordPress.org/support/ for a more accurate answer. If you don’t have a WordPress.ORG account you’ll need to create one. Your WordPress.COM account won’t work there.

  Also, you can read the differences of WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

  thank you so much. I know I am using wordpress.org for the website, but it is not recognizing my email as valid. Also, there is no easy way to find out what that is unless I start monkeying with php which I am not qualified to do.
  I have been on chat all afternoon with GoDaddy and keep getting bounced. I am at my wits end, I only went on to update some new work and it has disappeared. I am not opposed to recreating it, but am freaked out that wordpress.org isn’t even recognizing my email.
  I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone

  You’ll need to create an account at https://wordpress.org/support/ to utilize the support portion and ask the question. The reason we redirect there is because questions on this forum are for WordPress.COM, not WordPress.ORG unfortunately.

  To create an account at WordPress.org, go to https://login.wordpress.org/register/. After registering, login and then go to https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/#new-topic-0. After that, just copy and paste your original question from here to there!

  Maybe you don’t understand — I HAD an account, how else could I have built my site there? It is like I never existed on wordpress.ORG
  I DO understand, my problem is that I should ALREADY HAVE an account, because my site was built on .ORG and has been up since 11/2015

  I apologize for the frustration, confusion, and miscommunication. We can’t do anything for your situation here at WordPress.com.

  All questions at WordPress.com do not apply to WordPress.org.

  I apologize that we’re having a miscommunication here. I’m sorry if I angered you as well; however it’s possible to use a WordPress.org software install without ever having gone to WordPress.org itself. Have you logged into WordPress.org before? Are you attempting to login to GoDaddy or your /wp-admin/?

  If none of these answer your question, I would suggest creating another account at https://wordpress.org/support so you can get your question answered better there from them as we don’t moderate it at all.

  You haven’t angered me, I am just frustrated because I have been trying to clear this up for the last 3 hours, waiting on ques, getting disconnected all 3 times, sending messages, calling and no one can tell me where my site and my .org info has gone. Thanks for your attempt to help.
