My website reverted back to previous state after a renewal

  • Unknown's avatar

I self-hosted the website in April 2013 and after a year, I renewed my service with wordpress. Now when I access my site, everything is the way it was in 2013 April. A whole year of change is either gone or hidden.

I’m very confused as to what happened and I want to know if my data is really gone.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I redirected the nameserver to the actual hosts (laughing squid) and cancelled the domain mapping. Trying to undo the changes that seemed to have caused the problem.

Now, the problem seemed to have been solved. However when I try to access the dashboard and edit the website using wordpress platform, I’m directed to the page that says seoulbasecamphostel.wordpress.com doesn’t exist. Do I need to re-register with wordpress to have the capability to edit my website using wordpress?

    Hi Jake!

It looks like there is a bit of confusion between your self-hosted domain and your WordPress.com site. Your site at seoulbasecamphostel.com is self-hosted using WordPress.org software with ENOM servers. Your site seoulbasecamp.wordpress.com is hosted at WordPress.com using WordPress.com servers. Since your domain seoulbasecamphostel.com is no longer mapped to your WordPress.com blog, your content will not be managed through WordPress.com. Instead, you should have another log-in screen for your self-hosted site. That login is traditionally your URL followed by /wp-admin. However, it looks like yours is as follows:

    http://seoulbasecamphostel.com/yh5203

Does that help to clarify everything? Please let me know if you need anything else!

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense. The problem is fixed now.
