My website seems to have gone down.
-
WordPress is hosting my site, and I have bought my online name from GoDaddy. I recently updated my payment details with WordPress so I should be up to date on that front, and I have another year paid up with GoDaddy. My site is still available and intact on the old WordPress site. But something has obviously expired — my subscription with WordPress?? Apologies if this all sounds staggeringly un-technical! It’s because I am!

I’ll be happy to help. Is it karen-glaser.com that you need help with?
If so, you’ll want to add the domain mapping upgrade back to your account as it has expired.
Here are those instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
Each year you’ll need to renew your domain through GoDaddy and your mapping through us.
Please reply with further questions.

Thanks so much for help, Liz. I have just added the domain mapping upgrade back to my account. Just one more question, please: is the domain already configured? In other words, do I have to log into GoDaddy’s site and change the ‘Name Servers’. (Am quoting from the instructions…).
Thanks again!

Hi Karen –
You’ll need to configure the name servers through GoDaddy. That is step #2 here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/#2-ask-your-domain-provider-to-update-your-dns-settings
After that step is finished it can take up to 72 hours for the name servers to fully configure and for your domain to show your WordPress.com site. Just sit tight and wait for the magic ;)
