My widgets aren’t working!
-
Ever since the upgrade a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been having trouble updating my widgets. When I click “Edit” only half of the text box displays, and I can’t read enough of the text to change anything (plus it won’t let me). The old way was so much better! If I can’t resolve this problem soon, I’m going to have to migrate to another blog provider!

While the text widget is still on the left side, **right click** on it instead, it will open to edit. Place your code in and then save it.
The saved text widget will then go to the bottom of your widgets currently in use. Now you can move it to where you wish it to be.
Save before you leave the screen. This will work in IE7 I know for certain.

If I right click, it takes me out to google. Also, the widgets are listed on both sides for some stupid reason, with the right side appearing to be the “edit” side.

The left side are the “available widgets”. The right side are the widgets that you have in your sidebar.

I’m still having problems. I can move the text box but as soon as I let it go, it goes right back to where it was and gets cut in half again. It’s possessed!

If it’s getting cut in half, I have to assume you are using IE6 or IE7. They both have an issue with the widgets right now. My suggestion is to download and use Firefox until WordPress gets the IE bugs worked out. Then, if you wish, you can uninstall Firefox and go back to using IE.

I think it will work for you just fine. The vast majority of people are having no problems with Firefox on WordPress right now.
