my widgets have disappeared
-
Hi, All the information i had in my widgets has disappeared. Can I retrieve it?
AnneThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That depends on what happened to the widgets. Did you move them? Delete them? Check the Inactive Widgets area, below the Available Widgets. If any are in there you can move them back to the proper sidebar area.

Thanks I see they are all in the inactive widget area. I didn’t remove them. I accidentally switched theme then went back to my original one. Could that have changed them?

I experienced the same thing yesterday. I have no changes to my blog. I simply added a new post only to find my widgets had reduced. I had several other widgets and now just a few. Any idea how this can be reverted? The widgets are not in my inactive widgets section :(

This is probably cause by a stray div tag or other formatting error in your latest post. See the support page HTML troubleshooting. Also at your Writing Settings page (dashboard > Settings > Writing) make sure that at “Formatting” you have the following checked: “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically.”

http://www.loveyourtresses.com/ is not hosted by WordPress.COM. Sorry but we cannot help you here as we provide support only for WordPress.COM blogs and that site is not one of them.WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. read the differences here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.
Also check out your detailed theme description page for the new theme or the old one if you changed and then changed back because not every blog theme has widgets in the same locations, and some themes have slide-out links that must be clicked for widgets to display at all.
Widgets also have visibility settings that determine which pages they display on. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility
