My wordpress address points to expired domain

  Hi.
  I have tried to find the solution to my problem within Support but have failed to do so. Because I don’t really understand what is happening I may include some irrelevant information.

  My original site was ‘sarahbbc.wordpress.com’
  Last year I purchased the domain ‘ratinthebookpile.com’ which I allowed to lapse in Jan ’13.
  I changed my address to ‘ratinthebookpile.wordpress.com’ but cannot access my site at all since the new address seems to point to the expired domain’ratinthebookpile.com’

  I have cleared my cookies and cache since this is the only advice I can find which may be pertinent.

  Please advise. Thank you.

  Hi there – do you see your site OK in a different browser, such as Chrome or Safari? If not, you may need to clear your PC’s DNS cache. If that’s the case, please let me know what OS you’re running (i.e. Windows 7) and I can give you instructions on how to do that.

  I’ve also detached the domain from your site, since it was purchased by someone else.

  Let me know how it goes.

  Thanks Kathryn. I can now see my site: thank you so much. I have learned a salutary lesson here by which I hope others may profit: by letting the domain name lapse I have lost all my traffic and, I imagine, broken every link to my site.
