My WordPress connection is always disconnected when I see in Admin WP Dashboard outside of WordPress

  I am trying to publicize my posts using the WP dashboard on my self-hosted site. I keep seeing a note that I am not connected to wordpress.com and when I connect it, it gets connected but diverted to wordpress.com dashboard. Is there no way to connect to wordpress.com while staying in your self-hosted WP admin dashboard? I wish to publicize my posts while in my own WP admin dashboard panel. I successfully posted with publicize on wordpress.com dashboard but never tried it on my own admin WP panel.

  Howdy –

  In order to connect your self hosted WordPress site to your WordPress.com dashboard you need to install the Jetpack plugin. More details are available at https://jetpack.com/

  Hi
  I have Jetpack installed already. It’s basically all set. This problem occurs only when I am on my self hosted WP admin panel. It somehow does not connect even after I attempt to connect it – after connecting it directs me to the wordpress website showing the plans for subscription and I select $0 free. Anyhow it just does not connect when I go back to my admin panel. But when I see my site and use wordpress.com admin panel, it is connected.

  Good Morning –

  It sounds like it is working as expected. You’ll connect to Jetpack and your social networks on WordPress.com but when you publish on your self hosted site you do not need to visit WordPress.com to have the posts share automatically.

  Hi there! Thanks and you are right. Very strange that it says I am not connected when I look at it at my WP Admin dashboard. It managed to do the autopost to social media despite it all.
  I have another issue on scheduled posts. I know I have set my timezone correctly on my WP admin dashboard yet my posts don’t get published at the scheduled time. It is as if it is on another timezone. How do I check to make sure it is right? Is there another place I need to check? I am very sure my settings are correct on my WP admin dashboard under timezones.
