My wordpress domain to point somewhere else
-
Hi there,
I purchased my domain name(jinhyuklee.com) through WordPress.com. Now I want to try out new blogging platform called Ghost and registered through Ghostify.io
They say that I should change my Cname to their site, but I am just stuck.
Below is what they say I should do. I looked for answers through Support and Forums for hours but I just couldn’t find the answer. Please help!
To configure your Ghost blog to run from your own URL, you will need to set the CNAME to thegrid.ghostify.io. This will be used as the main system URL.
It can take up to 72 hours for your domain name changes to work. Don’t worry it’s normally much quicker! While you’re waiting you can still access and manage your Ghost through the .ghostify.io url above.
Common issue alert!
Make sure your ‘wwws’ match! – The most common issue we find is people type ‘yourdomain.com’ in the box above but set their CNAME for ‘www.yourdomain.com’, or vice versa. This won’t work.
If you need further help setting your CNAME, you’ll need to contact your domain name provider. Just copy the text from this box and send it to them.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you want to use a new host, you have two options. You can either transfer your domain registration to another registrar or change your name servers to point the domain outside of WordPress.com.
You can find more information on both of these options here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/

Please also note that ICANN regulations require a 60-day waiting period after registering a new domain in order to transfer it to a different domain registrar. Since it appears that your account is only a month old, it may not yet be possible to transfer it yet. In this case, you can change the name servers in your domain dashboard to point to your new hosting service, as txpost said.

Also, you can continue to keep your domain registration with WordPress.com regardless of where you are hosting your site.

Thank you all.
So, it seems that only viable option I have for now is to modify the name server setting. I’ll check with my new hosting site to get more info on this.
