My WordPress Site Says ‘Deceptive site ahead.’
-
I’ve used WordPress for my portfolio website for the last 10 years, but now this error pops up when others try to access the site. What do I need to do?
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I set this up in 2011, but I believe it is GoDaddy. I’m guessing that this might be a problem on their end?

Your website http://micahbader.wordpress.com/ shows fine without any problem. What link do you share?
-
enlie8: The site is hosted on WordPress.
staartmees: That is odd that it now has the “wordpress” part in the URL. Previously, it was just this url: http://micahbader.com/ -
I’m seeing the same ‘Deceptive site ahead.’ Doesn’t look like the server is responding to requests for your domain either.
You should open a request with your hosting provider for help with this.
Best of luck.

Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your website. However, that site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Your hosting provider’s support team may also be able to assist.
