Hello, I have followed the steps in the Claiming my Pinterest site docment several times and Pinterest still cannot verify my WordPress site, what am I doing wrong? I have a free account with WordPress and do not want to upgrade. Please let me know what I can do to fix this.

Hi, are you using these steps?
https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/#pinterest-site-verificationIf so can you let us know what’s happening on that last step where you validate with Pinterest? Let us know what error you get.

Yes, I have repeated this exact process 6 times, and every time I get the email message from Pinterest shown below. If you have any idea how I can fix this, please let me know! Thank you!
Hi Quill & Orb Press!
We couldn’t find the HTML meta tag or verification file on your site. Be sure to paste the HTML meta tag in the <head> section of your site’s homepage, or upload the verification file to your site’s root directory. Try again or get help.

Try making the site address on Pinterest match your blog address exactly. Instead of sunbook.home.wordpress.com, try entering sunbook.home.blog at Pinterest. Their validator will give you a different meta tag to replace the one you have. You have the code entered correctly, but their validator is looking in the wrong place for your site.
-
Google can sometimes take up to an hour to notice their newly added meta tag, so I wonder if Pinterest is the same way.
Give that a shot, add the tag, wait an hour, and then try Pinterest’s end of the verification process.

Thank you all, you were right, I changed the site address and waited a bit, and it went through! Thank you for all of your help!
