my wordpress typekit free fonts are no longer working
-
My wordpress typekit free fonts are no longer working. The typekit advert in bottom corner of the window still appears and I still have a typekit id for the font, Adelle (which still appears to be supported), but now it defaults to Helvetica and Times on my browsers.
How can I get typekit working again without having to buy a premium upgrade?
Thanks if you can help.

We no longer support the typekit account integration. If you’d like to change your fonts, you’ll need to purchase a Custom Design upgrade:

I don’t want to change the fonts just keep the ones I had (which I understood would remain free). If that’s not possible can I remove the typekit advertising (as these fonts no longer display) and put the text font back to a normal size?
Thanks

Sorry, that last comment was meant to be from me, Carapuff, not my Dad

Thanks

Alright. I’ve removed the Typekit ad and your font size has been restored. Let me know if you have any other questions.

@shawnajroberts-And stranger still, I have a grandfathered typekit account on justjennifer.wordpress.com, but the logo link (ad) back to typekit is no longer showing, but my typekit fonts are there; now with extra spacing weirdness.
In this post for example, the last two words of the title run together, but if you look at the post title in the Editor, they are two separate words. This is happening on all my post titles of more than one word.
It was my understanding from a previous comment some time ago by designsimply that grandfathered typekit accounts would continue to be supported. Yes, please. :)

@stylesource01 – You’re all set!
@justjennifer – That is quite strange. In this instance, it looks like a nbsp character is in place of an actual space character. Try editing the post and deleting the space you see in the title and adding it back with your space bar. Usually that clears this up.

@shawnajroberts – For just a moment I thought you said I would have to go back and edit 250+ post titles to correct this? :-/

@shawnajroberts-Bedtime here, but just coming back to report that what you suggested has not had the desired result. I even updated the post between deleting the space and adding it back. Tried in both the “Classic” Post Editor and the New Dash Post Editor.
Bupkes.

Oh dear. No, I just needed to know if that would indeed fix it. I’m not sure why your font would be causing that, but I’m going to do a bit more testing with it and see if I can recreate the missing space.
Have a good night justjennifer!

OK-then. (Whew!) Thanks for testing further.
I suppose it’s stating the obvious that this is a new development. The post titles were just fine before. FWIW I don’t see this phenomenon on the demo site for Truly Minimal.

I’m happy to help, stylesource01! :)
@justjennifer – I just roped Kathryn into helping me debug this. We’ve seen a similar issue with another font in Chrome. Unfortunately it has to do with the font, and since this font isn’t one of the ones we directly support for the theme there’s nothing we can do.
However, you may be able to change the font by editing the kit at Typekit. You can access this through the “Edit kit at Typekit” link here:
https://justjennifer.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-fonts
Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Thanks then to both of you for testing and debugging. I hope I can resolve it through typekit directly. /fingers crossed!
