My WordPress was hacked

  How was my wordpress blog hacked. I had to delete it the other day. What a shame!
  I had it set to “Private”, and yet someone was able to get on a specific blog and change some of my wording. A snippet of it appeared in a search on Google, and I was embarrassed because I didn’t write it. So, I deleted my wordpress blog. I changed the name, but now all my blogs are gone because I had to delete it from Google taking more snippets and it getting hacked into again. I’m furious that I was hacked into, as I applied all the security measures possible for that account.

  It’s too bad you deleted the blog. Deleting a blog is forever, the URL cannot be recycled and reused.
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-blog/
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  if you ever experience this aging this is what to do:
  Go here > Users > All Users and delete any user that does not belong there.
  Disable post by email > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/
  Change your blog password to a very difficult one > http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password
  Go to your email program and change the password to a very difficult one

  mine was hacked just now. they did an entire spam post about working from home. they had to have signed in as me and posted it, none of the other options are enabled. i changed my password, but i’m pretty disappointed that it happened.

  Sorry your site was not hacked” someone got your password – use a better password – make sure you have went through the checklist above
