thank you members for your advice, but no she did not set up the passionate user name; (like jovial above) a
Valerie Davies, the author is unable to access her wordpress blog valeriedavies.com she has been blogging since 2012, been unwell, in hospital, (she is 86) and wanted to do another blog but it looks like someone else has taken it over. And she has no way of getting back into it.

@jovial95fb35024f Same story for you as the rest over here. You created the account jovial95fb35024f yourself when you logged in to post your question.
However as your site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform, you must head over to the WordPress.org website

@passionate354c96d7f5 look here at https://wordpress.com/forums/users/passionate354c96d7f5/ and you will see your mother created that account on the 18th November this year. This is her correct account:-

It is clear she must have more than one email address. So you need to log out of this new account and log in with the username valeriedavies and the password she always used to access her original site.
PS: The same thing applies to most everyone else in this thread. WordPress.com obviously makes it far too easy to create a new account. Perhaps if everyone just had one email address these mistakes wouldn’t be so easy to make.
