My WordPress website has disappeared
-
Hi,
I am desperate to get this site back up. The web designer who created the site paid to put it live and, because she lives in Brazil, we were communicating by messaging each other at this time. She was supposed to send me an invoice for the cost of WordPress’s fee but I never got it. She has not answered my communiques since January 2022, which was when she paid for the site. I saw it up and running a few months ago but I didn’t know how to use it. I recently got technical support but now, when I enter the URL, a message says that it is not accessible. PLEASE help me. I paid $1000and hundreds of hours of developing this site are at stake. I will try to reach you by phone as well.
SIncerely,

Hi Joanne, I’m so sorry to hear this! Can you confirm the site link is joannelight.tk? If that is correct, I can see that site was not hosted with our services, but I also can’t tell whether it was hosted anywhere, which is what has me wondering whether the name is correct.
Did you pay for the hosting directly, or did they? If you bought hosting directly, you can try reaching out to the provider directly.
Also, to be clear, WordPress.com is a hosting company. Your designer may have used the free WordPress software. We use that software here, too, but because it’s just free code, there’s really no way for us or anyone but the hosting company and site admin to control what happens to it.
In a case like this, you will need to work with your service providers, including the developer and the hosting company, as the problem isn’t within WordPress itself. If you’ll confirm the site link, we can double-check to see if it’s hosted here on our services.
