Mysteriously appearing unwanted smilies!
-
I logged onto my site after a few days away and found smilies had mysteriously appeared where I had typed 8) at the end of (…. 2008)- presumably because of the combination of 8 and a bracket. A glitch? I certainly dont want them there anyway. Any idea of how I can remove them please without going back and removing all the brackets. I have tried editing them out by retyping to no avail. These are the pages affected, but there may well be more I have not found …!

Go to your dashboard, click on settings, choose writing, and remover the checkmark next to the line, “Convert emoticons like :-) and :-P to graphics on display.”

Brilliant! Worked like magic. Thanks Tess.
(Cant work out how the box got ticked though as I had no smilies before I went away!)
