  Hello,
  I am getting several new follows per day from blogs that either do not exist (what appear to be placeholders) and from blogs such as this one: http://creditcardandfinance2020.wordpress.com/ which are clearly just advertising vehicles. This is entirely new to me. Is there a reason why I should suddenly be getting so many new follows and why many of them appear to be blogs generated in a spam-like way? I am afraid of my blog being hijacked. Can I block followers?

  Hi there,

  Spam followers is a new phenomenon, but it is one which you don’t have to worry about right now. As long as you don’t engage with them, don’t click on anything in their websites, etc, then there’s nothing that they can do to take over your website.

  Thank you. I think new precautions need to be put in place. This is a worrying trend.
