Mystery Mistake
-
Hi, I am trying to load the following:
<img src=”http://fashionsensei.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/jbandme_logo_08_web.jpg” />
<img src=”http://fashionsensei.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/what-ecotote-yellow-004.jpg” />Into my side bar and for some reason the image is not coming up. Could someone tell me what I am missing? I have re-read the forum tips and for some reason I’m still not getting it.
I also want to add a link http://www.jbandme.com to the first image, but I am not sure where to put it in the code.
My blog is http://fashionsensei.wordpress.com
I really appreciate your help!

That form of the code doesn’t seem to work with everybody; try this variant:
<img src="URL_HERE"></a>
But your images are too large for the sidebar; you should first upload properly scaled-down copies of them. Or use this code:
<img src="URL_HERE" width="150px"></a>
(150 is an example; ideal number varies from theme to theme.)The code for an image that acts as a link is this:
<a href="URL_OF_SITE"><img src="URL_OF_IMAGE"></a>
Or, if you need to downsize the image:
<a href="URL_OF_SITE"><img src="URL_OF_IMAGE" width="150" /></a> -
panaghiotisadam,
Thanks so much for your help! My only remaining issue is, the quality of jb and me is a bit poor. Is there anything I can do to sharpen it at bit?

Thanks again for your help!!!!

You’re welcome.
You can sharpen the image in an image editing application, not in the blog editor. But you took my sample code to the letter while your sidebar has room for a larger image: so what you can easily do to improve things is go to the widget and change 150 to 210.
And another suggestion (insignificant in this case, but you might find it useful for more complex images): you get better results if you upload a properly scaled-down copy of an image in full size rather than letting wp do the downsizing.

panaghiotisadam,
Thanks again for all your help. When I orginally loaded the picture, I thought I had scaled it down. It was in a funny format, so that may have been part of my problem. :)
I will try to change the size to 210. You really were a big help!
Thanks!!!

I’m back. I am trying to load another image and I am following your directions again, but I must be doing something else wrong.
Here is the code I am trying to load:
<img src=”http://fashionsensei.wordpress.com/files/2008/11/fallshoes08-thumb1″ width=”150″ />
I appreciate any input that you may have.
