name changed

  Hi, I changed the name of my blog from ohsillyturtle.wordpress.com to jackiehuskisson.wordpress.com. Now when googled searched etc it only bring up the ohsillyturtle one, which has no content. I can access the jackiehuskisson.wordpress.com if I type it physically into the URL section. I would like people searching for me to be able to find my site.

  Hello Jackie,

  When did you create jackiehuskisson.wordpress.com?
  Normally search engines can take up to 6/8 weeks to crawl new websites and index them onto their Search Engine Results Pages.
  If you have created your new website before that time, I’d suggest you to be a bit patient and see if by the end of the 8 weeks your website gets indexed.

  You could try to speed up the process by registering your site on Google Search Console (former Webmaster Tools). Here’s Google official guide about that: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/34592?hl=en

  Thanks! I changed it a few days ago. Ill hold out longer and see what happens.

  So that’s totally normal. You need to give search engines some time to fetch your new URL. Keep us posted on the development ;)
