Name fields missing in User Profile of admin dashboard
-
Might be a rookie question but when I go to Users > Profile, or if I go to All users and “Edit” under my name (I’m the admin), there used to be a whole lot of fields under “Name” and now they’re gone and it just has a link that says “Manage on WP.com”. If I go to any other user’s profile, the fields are still there (Username, Role, Name, Nickname, Display name publicly as…). I swear they used to be on the admin Profile page as well. Did I do something that has them hidden?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there! You haven’t done anything wrong—what you’re seeing is actually a feature of Jetpack (or your WordPress.com connection) called ‘Secure Sign On’ (SSO). When this is active, WordPress links your local site profile to your global WordPress.com account to keep things synced and secure. Because your account is the one ‘owning’ the connection, it hides the local name and password fields and directs you to manage them in one central place via that ‘Manage on WP.com’ link. Other users who aren’t linked to a WordPress.com account yet will still see the standard local fields. If you want those fields to come back to your local dashboard, you can go to Jetpack > Settings > Security and toggle off the ‘WordPress.com Log In’ option, though using the centralized management is generally the intended ‘Business’ setup for wholesalehacker.com. Let me know if that clears it up for you!
