name I chose and paid for, for the WordPress website is already taken!

I registered for a domain name and when going to that site found that the name already belongs to another company! First, I am angry that WORDPRESS didn’t check first BEFORE approving the name and secondly, I’d like to know how to change the name of my site without having to pay extra?!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I registered for a domain name and when going to that site found that the name already belongs to another company!
I checked your upgrade, and it appears that you may have configured domain mapping by mistake, instead of registering a new domain. Sorry for the confusion there.
First, I am angry that WORDPRESS didn’t check first BEFORE approving the name
Domain mapping is an upgrade that allows WordPress.com user to use a domain that they have purchased elsewhere previously with a site that they have created here. As such, it does not check to see if a URL is available (when setting up this upgrade) which you would see when attempting to register a domain that is not available.
I’d like to know how to change the name of my site without having to pay extra?!
While it is not possible to register your requested domain (thepaintersplace.com) I have restored the domain credit to your account, so you can register a new domain by going to the domains page (Store>Domains) in your site dashboard, and then look for the “Get a domain for your site now!” message to continue.
Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
