no. its we are green like wearegreen.wordpress.com. is that name taken by someone? usually it says either availalble or taken, but never seen reserved?

That URL is not registered as far as I can tell. I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

The account wearegreen is 6 years old – WordPress.COM reserves a blog name to match an account name – you need to find that account and convince them to register the blog then transfer the blog to you.

You need to find that person on your own as WordPress.COM will not help for privacy reasons

    Everything is normal

Is there anyway you can give me a hint about how to find who might own that site? I have a funny feeling it might have been ME! I would have dont that when I first got started with wordpress, but did not know how to create a website at that time. It does not show up in my wordpress.com account. Is there any way for me to find out who might have it or the IP or the account associated with it? Thanks much for your help!

Is there anyway you can give me a hint

Not really — has to do with privacy – the staff can see account info I can’t but the staff respects the privacy of all account owners

    Account Recovery

Log completely out of WordPress then fill out this form

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

What you will need to do

    Recover Your Account

Is there a way to contact the staff or fill out a contact form to send them? I tried the form at the link you sent but they both ask for authentication info that, of course, I dont have, and they will not allow me to send any information at all. I want to send an email to the staff that says the following. thanks for your help!

    jm

I own my company called We Are Green. I have a URL of http://www.wearegreen.us that is our official website, but I think i may have reserved http://www.wearegreen.wordpress.com years ago, before I knew how to create a website on WordPress. I have a wordpress account for (email visible only to moderators and staff) (UN: johnmark820) that has my 20 or so websites i have created, and wearegreen.wordpress.com is not there. I would like to develop that site if I in fact to own it, but Im not sure how to prove that I do, or how to find any more information on this. Any help you can give me is much appreciated.

    Thanks very much!

you need to log out and fill out the recovery form as best you can – that form goes to the Account / blog recovery group –

thanks for the info and the replies and help. I did log out and the form will still not send because it says it cant find wearegreen.wordpress.com. I would think that would mean it is available. I would also think that one could NOT purchase a site called xxxxx.wordpress.com from godady or any other place. I checked http://www.whois.net and they can not find the address. http://www.tucowsdomains.com can not find the domain and godaddy keeps changing it to wearegreenwordpress.com as a commercial domain, so it also can not find the wordpress domain. Other suggestions?

    Thanks!

When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account.

If and only if you have the matching username account then the blog is reserved for you and you will be able to log in appropriately and register it after logging in under the correct username account.
    https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1

However, if you changed your username then the blog URL will not be available for use under the new username account.

There is only one method of account recovery when you do not know or have access to the email address used to register. Be aware that there is a backlog and be patient while waiting.

Your last resort for obtaining access is to complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery with as much information as possible and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

it says it cant find wearegreen.wordpress.com. I would think that would mean it is available.

not really – you want to recover the account – NOT the blog since the blog name does not exist yet – try leaving the blog URL blank

  • Unknown's avatar

Leaving the Blog URL blank does not work. it must be filled in. Do I have any other ways of doing this. Im quite confused because everyone keeps sending me that same account recovery form that will not allow me to send it. Isnt there anyone out there who is knowledgeable about contacting the staff? Thanks!

You are bound to go round in circles until you actually submit an account recovery form.

    Account Recovery
Please provide the following information so that we can try to help you recover your account. Without proper validating information, we may not be able to help you recover your account. Read more about the process here.

Please do not use this form for general support questions.

What is your registered email address or username?

I don’t know my registered email or username

What is the URL of the specific blog you are contacting us about?

What email address should we contact you at?

    Proof of Ownership
To help recover your account, we require some information from you to verify your ownership of the account. Please note that we are unable to recover an account without proof of ownership.

Do you have a transaction ID? What’s this?

Do you have an activation URL or key? What’s this?

Do you have two factor authentication codes? What’s this?

    Extra Details
Do you have anything else you want to add? Please note that we cannot accept publicly published material as proof of account ownership.

I am assuming that user AUXCLASS is someone of authority who has now made a request for staff contact on my behalf.

I am assuming that user TIMETHIEF is a regular user such as myself and is just trying to offer help.

If this is not correct, please let me know. Thanks to both!

Both auxclass and I timethief are Volunteers and this is a peer support forum. I have answered questions for over 8 years now. That’s 3,722 pages of 30 threads of questions on each page.

Staff will not deal with this issue in this public support forum – period. You will have to complete as much information as you can and submit an account recovery form so they contact you off forum in an email. And that is what will happen when Staff work their way forward to this thread.

This is a peer support forum where Staff and Volunteers work together cooperatively to provide WordPress.com support. Emailing support means it takes longer to get an answer than posting to the support forums does. Currently there is a considerable backlog of threads tagged for Staff assistance before this one was tagged.

Staff work through all forum threads tagged for their attention and through all email support tickets in chronological order based on datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected.

How long it takes to clear the threads and support tickets depends on how many Happiness Engineers are working on them at any given point in time. It also depends on how complex the issues in each thread and ticket are are.

Please don’t bump your thread by posting into it again and replying to me because it’s not in your best interest to post to it after it has been tagged for Staff help. Doing that moves the timestamps forward and it takes longer to get a response.

Actually @TT & I are both your fellow bloggers and both of us are trying to help you – @TT has helped in the forum longer than I have, but other than that – nothing special about either one of us

  • Unknown's avatar

Ok, thanks again to both of you. Its great to see such devotion and at least have someone responding to our issues. One last question:

How does one TAG FOR STAFF and create a SUPPORT TICKET as referenced above by “forum threads tagged for their attention and through all email support tickets”?

    Thanks again!
