Name of folder for application settings?

I’m hosting my site with 123-reg. When I loaded the wordpress application. It’s asks me to add in the folder name I would like to install the application to. It is my domain address/ (something?) but I don’t know what the name of the folder should be? I have contacted them but they say wordpress will know the know the domain mapping for the application. Can anyone help with this. Thanks

Hi When I checked my blog is with wordpress.com. From what I have read from the link above this is why I am unable to download other theme. I also have hosting with 123 reg. Should I start again with wordpress.org?

Depends on what you want to do.It’s entirely possible to integrate your existing WordPress.COM blog with your own site, but you are still bound by the WordPress.COM ToS (no ads, etc.) and limited functionality (no javascript, no iframes, etc.).
If you need total freedom and have hosting (not just purchased a domain name), then I’d say go for installing your own WordPress.ORG install. You do need to be aware that with a WordPress.ORG install you are also entirely responsible for all maintenance, upgrades, etc. and when the time comes for support, you’ll need to check in at http://wordpress.org/support/

I’ve been cruising my favorite threads because I thought I’d faved it, but now can’t find it. thesacredpath wrote an excellent reply a few month’s back about moving to WordPress.ORG and I’m hoping that another forum volunteer did fave it and can share the link (tt, rain, panos, tsp?).
