Name Server Change Not Working.

I have recently decided to be hosted by Bluehost, and was told to change my name server to theirs (ns1.BlueHost.com + ns2.BlueHost.com). When I change the name server in my wordpress.com blog, it says that the change was a “success”, but when I exit the screen and come back in, the setting seems to have reverted back to using WordPress name servers.

At one point it was switching between the new and old site and I was even able to make changes to the new site. I contacted Bluehost and they told me that one server was WordPress and the other was Bluehost, and that I needed to change them both to Bluehost. I did and it seems to have reverted back entirely to Worpess and to my old wordpress.com site.

Feeling very overwhelmed and at a bit of a loss.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks like you’ve sorted out the problem. When I checked your site’s name servers they were both bluehost.com and I was able to visit your site. The changes you made can sometimes take up to 72 hours to fully take effect. That may be why you were (or are) experiencing the switching problem.

  • Hi @courtneyrbrtsn, it’s looking good now. As @micawbr pointed out, it just takes some time. Once you’re feeling fully settled and happy at Bluehost, feel free to transfer your registration there as well. Here’s how: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/

    Cheers!
