Name Server Question
-
I have registered a domain name (myblog.com) and pointed the NS records to my nameservers. I can redirect myblog.wordpress.com to a subdomain name (blog.myblog.com) but cannot direct it to the parent (myblog.com). Do I have to point my NS records to the wordpress.com nameservers?

Typically, if you want the main blog domain to work on top of your wordpress.com hosted blog you would point the registrar record for the nameservers to wordpress.com for the domain and then add it as a mapped domain from your dashboard (admin). Even to have myblog.wordpress.com showing up as blog.mydomain.com you need to point the DNS for blog.mydomain.com to the wordpress.com nameservers for true “domain mapping”.
There is an FAQ on domain mapping for reference as well at http://faq.wordpress.com and clicking on the big “domain mapping” tag there :)
