Name servers being reset to wordpress
-
I keep changing the name servers away from wordpress.com because I am not using my wordpress website even though I paid for the upgraded subcsription. The problem is that even though it says it has saved the name servers successfully when I log out and log back into my account my name servers are set to default (wordpress). There is a rudimentary wordpress site, does that need to be deleted? If so how. Is there a way to contact support for wordpress.com? When I click help it only has an option to post in the forums Thanks!

Specifically i’m trying to update karenbranan.com to name servers ns10.wixdns.net and ns11.wixdns.net. It keeps changing them back to wordpress defaults (after I log out and log back into my account) even though it says it had saved successfully.

Could you please confirm the domain that you are trying to switch nameservers for?
If it is linkedthroughslavery.com, the issue is likely that the WordPress.com user account that you are posting from is not the owner or admin of linkedthroughslavery.com.
So you must have ended up with a second WordPress.com account at some point. You will need to log into the other account in order to successfully change the nameservers for linkedthroughslavery.com dashboard.

Not doing anything to linked through slavery. Specifically i’m trying to update karenbranan.com to name servers ns10.wixdns.net and ns11.wixdns.net. It keeps changing them back to wordpress defaults (after I log out and log back into my account) even though it says it had saved successfully.

Understood.
I’ve made the nameserver changes on my end. Let me know if they stick or not.

Hello, I have got the same problem and am looking for an answer here, as there seems to be no other way to get help.
I have purchased the domain http://www.weihnachtsbaeckerei.net and since the Widgets and PlugIns are very limited on wordpress.com, I decided to use blogger.
Now I am trying to display my blogger site (inderweinachtsbaeckerei.blogspot.com) on the domain I purchased.I have changed the Nameservers several times and every time they change back, even though I get the OK. So it is the same problem.
I have verified the site with Google through a text-DNS and it worked, but still the wordpress site is being displayed. What can I do?
I plan to do this with several sites and was planning to buy more domains through wordpress and use them with blogger, because it is not possible to purchase domains through blogger. But if it is so complicated, I won’t do so… I hope I have not wasted the money I spend on the domain.
I used these tutorials :

The nameservers have already reset to WordPress defaults. Generally it resets as soon as I log out and then log back into the account. So you might be able to see them reset on your side after you change them. Please advise to what should be the next step to resolve this. Thanks

It looks like your email never got verified through ICANN for the domain registration. This will cause problems changing namservers. I have resent the verification email. Can you let me know if you do not receive it?
-
-
I did not received that verification email that you resent. I have since changed my wordpress profile to use a different email to try that. So please resend again
-
The email would go to the admin address listed on the domain registration. If you had a different email address associated with your WordPress.com account when you registered the domain, that is where the email would have been sent.

I received the following details:
You need to correct your base DNS addresses. Use the zone editor provided by the registrar, to remove the addresses highlighted in red – and to add the addresses highlighted in green.
You may not see the instructions for the second “CNAME”, until your base addresses are right. If you need the second “CNAME”, the “Error 12” display will provide details. If the blog publishes, a second “CNAME” is not necessary.
You have (right now, you should see these addresses):
weihnachtsbaeckerei.net. 300 IN A 192.0.78.24
weihnachtsbaeckerei.net. 300 IN A 192.0.78.25You need (when finished, you should see these addresses):
weihnachtsbaeckerei.net. 300 IN A 216.239.32.21
weihnachtsbaeckerei.net. 300 IN A 216.239.34.21
weihnachtsbaeckerei.net. 300 IN A 216.239.36.21
weihnachtsbaeckerei.net. 300 IN A 216.239.38.21
http://www.weihnachtsbaeckerei.net. 300 IN CNAME ghs.google.com.I tried to enter the IP adresses as A DNS, it told me it is impossible….
Thanks for your help

How can I get the verification email at my updated email address that is currently in the profile? The domain karenbranan.com was registered with an old email address.
It does not appear I can remove the default a records in the wordpress control panel as long as it keeps resetting to wordpress name servers

Thank you duskwriter,
If you can’t chande the A-DNS, who can? I start to fear that my purchase was for nothing :(
It clearly says, that it is possible to use the domains for other systems then wordpress in the instructions, that’s why I bought it.Has it never been done successfully for blogger?
Did you mange to change the CNAME to be ghs.google.com.
What am I supposed to do now?

I got access to the original email address. Still nothing about verifying the domain. Please advise
-
@duskwriter that’s sent again. Please watch for the verification email. It actually won’t come from WordPress, but it will have your domain name mentioned in it, so search your mail for that.
-
@weihnachtsbaeckerei2015 — you have a different issue since you aren’t trying to change your name servers but are trying to update your DNS. I’ll take a look.
-
OK @weihnachtsbaeckerei2015, we needed to remove the A records that pointed to WordPress.com first. Your settings are configured properly now, but you will want to wait a few hours for them to take full effect.
