Name Servers records – how do I access?

  • Unknown's avatar

The Name servers for my URL are

    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns1.wordpress.com

URL was purchased in 2015 through Word Press

Hosting provider: Automattic (which is Word Press)

How do I access my account?

  • Hello @wheelhouse2015,

May I know the URL of the website you need help with?

You can click on this link: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases to check if you will find this domain.

If it is, you can click on “My Sites” on the upper-left side of your screen. And you should be able to see this website listed. You can click it to access it. http://prntscr.com/h3p0yt

Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Regards,
    Rose

    Hi Rose,

    The URL is http://www.envestnetinstituteoncampus.com.

It was originally purchased through wordpress in 2015, but was transitioned to WP Engine.

I can’t access the site. I am getting a wordpress error. It is trying to redirect it to envestnetinstituteoncampus.wordpress.com.

I am the admin and was on the site on Friday.

It was recommended to me to try to access where the ‘name server’ is registered.

I am desperate to get the site up and running and I am not sure where else to go. Any ideas on how to address.

I appreciate your suggestions and help.

  • You’re welcome. Do you see this domain purchase from this link: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases

I am also tagging a WP Support, you will find “modlook” on the side to further check your account. :)

    Hi Rose,

Thanks for your help. I don’t see it in – https://wordpress.com/me/purchases.

However, when I check on the URL on WHOISTHIS – here are the results.

I tried reaching WildWestDomains, but they can’t help me since it was purchased through WordPress

    Hi Rosa,

I found the email notification. I am logged into the WordPress.com with the email that it was sent to.

However, when I click the link in the body of the email, I get the following message – The requested shopping cart has no products for purchase.

  • I see – I have already tagged a WP Support to further check your account for this. My access is limited to check this further. I am really hoping that this gets sorted out soon.

    Regards,
    Rose

    Rose,

You have been very helpful. I will wait to hear from WP Support…hopefully they will get to the request soon.

    thank you.

  • Hi there,

Your domain expired on 17 September and was removed from our system yesterday because it wasn’t renewed.

I’ve emailed our domain provider to try and get it back for you. At the moment it doesn’t look like your domain has entered redemption yet, so I might be able to get it back without any additional cost to you, though I’ll only know for sure once our domain provider replies. If the domain is in redemption we need to pay an additional $80 to get it back, but hopefully we are still in time to recover it.

I see you bought a Personal Plan yesterday to try and get the domain back. All plans include one free domain, so the renewal cost of the domain is covered by your plan, but if you’d prefer to have only the domain as before, please let me know and I’d be happy to issue a partial refund for your payment minus the cost of renewing the domain.

    Hi Kokkieh,

Thanks for your help. Any idea on how long the response from the domain provider will be?

Once we determine, how to get it recovered, I will get back to you about the plan.

  • They usually reply within 24 hours, but if we’re lucky I might still hear back from them today. I’ll let you know as soon as I do.

Thanks. I am a bit desperate to get it back and running and will the recovery fee, if necessary.

Oops! It looks like I typed too fast in my previous response.

I will cover the recovery fee if necessary to get the URL back.

  • Hi there,

We already followed up with you via email as well, but your domain has been restored and we’ve reactivated it on your account.

Please let me know if you intend to keep the personal plan, or if you’d prefer for me to issue you a partial refund so you keep only the domain.

    Hi Kokkieh,

Thanks. I did get the email. You and your colleagues have been very helpful.

As a follow up, I need to update the contact info on the URL. Any suggestions on how to do that? Is there a form I can complete?

If I can keep the domain without the personal plan, that would be ideal. Could you issue the partial refund?

  • You can update your contact info from My Site ->Domains. Please note that changing your first name, last name or email will result in a 60 day transfer lock being placed on the domain unless you opt out via the confirmation email that will be sent to the current address on the domain.

Update Contact Information for a Domain

I’ve removed your plan and issued a partial refund for $22. You should receive it in about ten business days, though that depends on your bank.
