Name servers where are they?

    I have a domain with hostgator. I had it transferred from wordpress.com. When I try to quickinstall word press it takes me back to when I was still with wordpress. My domain shows that I’m with word press. IM NOT. I have been working on this since 9:00am this morning. I cant call you guys. I barley found this to email you.

    I either need my domain with you guys cancelled, or I need to somehow link my domain servers. wordpress,com says that the option is there when I try to look for help, but when I look at my site…it’s not there. this is extremely frustrating!!!

    I have been trying to set up a blog since august and I’m still having problem after problem. This is ridiculous! I need this fixed now! Also you guys need to find an easier way for people to get in contact with you. I spent almost an hour just looking for that!

    Hi there!

    The issue is that while you may have moved your site, you haven’t yet canceled your domain mapping.

    Here are the steps you need to take:

    1. Click on the link below:

      https://daniellerose1.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

    2. Where you see your domain mapping upgrade, click Cancel.

    That’s all you need to do here at WordPress.com. The next step takes place at your domain registrar. You will need to adjust your name servers with Hostgator. They are currently pointing to WordPress.com. Hostgator can provide you with their name servers, and you can make your adjustments accordingly.

    When I click cancel it says “Domains registered on WordPress.com cannot be deleted here. You must contact Support and request deletion.” So what do I need to do now? Also thank you for responding.

    Hi Danielle,

    I can delete the domain mapping for you whenever you like, however if I do the site that you currently have for sunnyrosepetals.com will go down. You may want to change your domain’s nameservers at Launchpad (your domain’s registrar) over to hostgator first. Once you do that (or once you tell me to proceed anyway) I’ll go ahead and delete your mapping for you!
